Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 4, 2026
BookclubZ is committed to making this site usable for everyone, including people who use assistive technologies. We aim for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
What we have built in
- Semantic HTML structure (headings, landmarks, lists).
- Alternative text on portraits, book covers, and decorative imagery marked as such.
- Keyboard navigation — every interactive element is focusable and shows a visible focus ring.
- Touch targets at least 44×44px.
- Body text contrast above WCAG AA (16:1).
- Animation respects the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting on your device — we disable transitions and the pulsing donate dot. - Mobile-first responsive layout that adapts cleanly between 375px and 1440px+.
- Time displays adjust to your local timezone automatically; the source datetime is exposed in the page markup.
Known limitations
- The Luma registration modal is provided by a third party and may have its own accessibility characteristics outside our control.
- Some font ligatures may render slightly differently in older browsers.
Compatibility
This site is tested in current versions of Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge on macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android. It should work with modern screen readers including VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, and TalkBack.
